ArtistMum: Doll Workshop II – Day 2

Most of my doll workshop girls were just about finished stuffing the cat dolls and now had to sew all openings closed. I always demonstrate and review stitches they learned in the first workshop. We reviewed how to thread the needle, make a knot at the end, and start their first stitch. The ‘ladder’ stitch is the best one to use for closing openings secure.

I also had the girls put their name next to swatches that they chose for a nightgown and a dress for their cat doll. This will make my life easier in that I only have to cut one for each child and not several. The choice was already made by them…..very easy!

The last thing we did was to stuff the smaller kitty with stuffing. I will have pictures of these next time. They come out very cute!
