ArtistMum: Doll Workshop- Day 6

We are moving right along in the doll workshop! Today, the girls learned several things. They each practiced how to draw facial features on a tutorial sheet. Each step was broken down into easy lines. After drawing all the facial features several times, they were ready to make the big move and draw on their actual dolls.

The girls also learned how to use a ‘loop turner’, a special tool used to pull ribbon, elastic, and other materials through casings. Each girl received a Halloween print that I sewed a casing on. They pulled ribbon through the casing using the special tool. When ‘gathered’, this forms either a skirt or a cape. They had the option of gluing on some Halloween shapes or leaving it plain.

Here are some photos of the girls busy drawing faces on their dolls!
